My Mom noticed the milkweed along the trail. Did you know the sap of milkweed is poison? However it is also one of of the most used plants by the monarch butterflies! Those fluffy white seeds were used during WWII to stuff life jackets - 6 times more buoyant than cork!
This isn't so much a macro as a possibility for a great texture. The leaves were falling into this standing water leaving a lovely floating carpet.
Another of those surprise shots that when you get it home you see something you didn't when taking it. I didn't even notice the leaf hanging by a "thread" till I got it on the computer!
