I was very lucky to be able to get the kayak out the first weekend of October and actually not freeze to death. Since we had snow earlier in the week, when they predicted sunny and 70s for the weekend I knew I had to get the boat wet. That Saturday was the plan but I woke up to the sounds of shotguns and realized that waterfowl hunting opened that day and alas I could not remember if they were allowed to hunt up at the reservoir. I didn't "think" so but wasn't willing to load up and haul the boat there to find out otherwise. So instead stopped by when I went to town and read that not only is there no bird hunting but once waterfowl season opens NO hunting is allowed up there. YAY!
So off I went with poodle puppy and Teddy and the cameras. There was quite the party going on in the now receding waters.
Just to say it the poodle was being a whiney brat too.
Teddy was being tolerant and very good as always. So I decided that after the camera battery died I'd just go ashore at our favorite spit of land and fetch the poodle till he got tired and cold. Success!
Teddy kept watch over the boat while I argued with Epic about properly bringing back the bumper.
Good boy Teddy. It was a fun paddle and I think Epic was quiet the rest of the trip, or was that his teeth I heard chattering?
