An all dogs post today peeps!

Today dawned absolutely lovely so after popping a load of laundry in I loaded up some of the dogs and headed to town to run errands.   Why take dogs, well it was nice but not hot and I'm trying to get everyone back in the habit of riding nicely so once we start camping again next year they are used to it.   Some of my littles haven't really been riding in a couple years so the motion and the setup of who is riding with who is important.

After going to town and picking up a few things I decided to head up to the reservoir and if it was quiet enough, swim/fetch Epic and wander a bit with him and Sterling.   It was nice and quiet and they had a great time as you can tell.

Sterling makes me laugh.  Trying to not get all 4 feet wet!

Game on!  Sterling won't fetch it but will try to get it from Epic.

Below is my favorite of the shots!

After going to the reservoir and on the way home I decided to drive down to Black Sandy (behind my house) and just see what all was happening and if they'd closed the White Sandy campground and dock yet (they hadn't).  It was pretty quiet down there so I pulled in where there wasn't any campers and decided I'd let the little ones and the poodle out for a stroll.   This stroll confirmed what I have suspected about Magic.  That his eyesight is pretty much gone, that he is disoriented easily and can only hear a little.   Having him off leash was not a wise idea but I hoped the short walk would be good for him and kept an eye on him...until he walked right off the side of an embankment and before I could get to him, skittered into the water.  I thank God that there was a little shoreline there and not a drop off (he doesn't swim) and I too skidded down the embankment after him.  Grabbed his collar and him and turned around to see Epic (aka water dog) right there to help.   This shot was after that adventure and no more time off leash for Magic any place but at home.   Thanks to his Guardian Angel and breeder Lilian who I am sure was helping us out too!  I definitely have my miracle for my class on Tuesday!

On our way back to the truck, I was able to capture these of Louie.  Those of you that know his story or have met him understand why these make my heart sing!   He's free, happy and out in front of me!  YIPEE!

Is that a smile????

So so glad that you were able to skitter down that bank after magic. Bet that was one scary event for all of you. so hard when your pups start getting older and more fragile. Have missed the story of Louie, but he does look like he is smiling for sure!
