A Little Kwaaaazy

Good thing I had a week worth of posts to keep you all entertained so this one is just miscellaneous this and that as I've been super busy trying to make sure I actually FINISH some projects I started.

First an update on Epic.  Surgery went swell but as predicted he's a problem rehab patient.   I worked from home yesterday so it was nice to be able to do that and keep an eye on him but last night and today (Wednesday) his incision is really bothering him so I took the day off to rest up from loss of sleep and be here to try to continue to keep him from licking.   I don't feel comfy putting a cone on him while I'm not here so am hoping an additional day of healing and keeping it sprayed up with Callendula spray will give us a leg up as I have to go to the office tomorrow.  I also have an arsenal of stuff to leave with him to keep his mouth busy tomorrow (stuffed Kong, fresh raw knuckle bones).    Here's hoping for NO complications!

Over the weekend I started and last night finished 3 of these panels.

I am no quilter and you only have to do it once to appreciate the work that is involved.  I wanted to keep the quilt type theme going for the trailer (I have one on the bed but these are much brighter which if you remember - I wanted color in this trailer.  I went through my stash of cotton that I had here at home (from making dog collars) and the fabric store had fat quarters for a buck a piece so this was what we got.  The backing will be that "warm windows" material and then I'll "tie" the squares and put the pockets on them (to hold things like the phone, kleenex, book as these will be where the bed is).   Check!

I also got my Christmas present for me from Connie (Far Side of Fifty)!   I have a huge spot in my heart for hand crafted items but didn't want something specific to Christmas.  I now have this lovely orchid hanging on my office wall at work.

Amazing and  thank you Connie and Far Guy!!!!

I also wanted to get back to my pysanky and finish up the ones I had finished so I could give them locally as gifts.   I also wanted to have photos of the ones that were already done so did that this morning.

So do you all remember the pink flamingo santa outdoor figure I said was my only decoration?  Well all my friends on facebook threatened to steal it so I told them to go get their own at Lowe's.  Sadly they don't have any this year - but the friends found this and I had to go get one (of course)!   The pink poodle will have to have a little more festive garb next year but she's pretty funny!

We got more snow last night so am headed out to shovel and run to town for more meds for Epic  (spray) and grab some lunch I think.    Sterling and I are really feeling more like this today but I'm going to suck it up!

I like your quilt- I've been wanting to make one for my camper bed and also a throw for the couch...I just have too many round toits lately and I surely do need to get started on something soon! I hope Epic is better soon. That is a lovely gift from Connie and Far Guy.

That Lady Slipper Ornament should keep you thinking spring and summer! That Pink Poodle is too funny...
I hope Epic keeps improving. I know Chance was bothered by his stitches too...and we had to carry him out side for a few days because he didn't think he could walk...poor boys. I used an antibiotic cream that seemed to help:)

The quilt is really nice and will add LOTS of color to the trailer : ) I am hoping the patient is healing nicely and love the idea of you using calendula.
