The blacksmith shop is also a working part of the ranch. I will tell you that Lyndel is so personable and such a fun lady and she was spending the day making iron candy canes for kids. She knows so much of the history of the ranch I think I could listen to her all day. She also has authored many ranch articles in the local paper and is an amazing writer. The park site says this about her:
A self-taught smithy, Lyndel Meikle can hammer you out a hoof pick in minutes, or offer you a slice of lodgepole pine tree trunk bearing the ranch's G-K brand even quicker.
