The botanical gardens at the Albuquerque BioPark have a lovely big pond, stage and green area in the middle. In the pond there was an amazing bronze statue of sandhill cranes.
There was also a flock of very friendly wood ducks that gave me an excellent opportunity to get some close ups (unlike our wild ones in MT).
There is also a special area on the back side of the pond where you can see numerous species of dragonflies. I was only able to get shots of a couple as they wouldn't sit for long and by the time I got there I was seriously tired and ready to go home, but that is okay. You can walk into the area and sit on the benches and see all kinds of them.
Of course they also have their token Canada Geese (didn't they hear you go north in the summer?).
