I cannot believe it is already the first of September! School has started here and everyone (including me) is getting back in to a different groove. Do you feel a different energy when September (or school time) rolls around?
Since I have overwhelmed you all with NM pictures from my trip wayyyyy back the first part of August I wanted to take a pause and just catch up on some of the other life happenings from this past month.
I was remiss not to tell you that indeed I did have WORK to do while in NM but am so blessed to have had those 2 extra days to tour before hand. Thanks to my Mom still being at my house to watch over the home place and the critters!! Could not have done it without her. It was very nice to be able to go to NM and meet many of my coworkers for the first time face to face and be able to also get some "face time" with my new boss. There was also a Summer Event held one afternoon where all of the department employees went bowling, ate pizza and cupcakes and just enjoyed some time. The bowling alley was on the historic Route 66!
There are some pretty amazing bowlers and even though there may have been a few rumblings about "bowling really? do we havta?" everyone had a good time once there. I only had my little point and shoot so the photos aren't as clear as I'd like but it was small and easy to sneak around and take photos.
I'm not a bowler so I did photos. Any bowlers out there (or ones like me that used to go to the bowling alley in our youth with family and friends)?
The second big event of August was my scheduled Nia White Belt Intensive Training. Boy howdy and it was! If you don't know what Nia is about I'm going to let you get the skinny HERE!
I am truly blessed to be in the company of so many amazing women in such an intimate and energetic and kinisthetic environment. The days were long but filled with love, dance, healing, stories, laughter and learning. This is about as blissed out as it gets and I give a big shout out to our amazing trainer Winalee Zeeb. Amazing doesn't even come close to expressing what this lady is!
It was 7 days and there was a graduation and presentation of our belts on that Sunday. I will tell you all this is the first ever form of exercise (and I am hard pressed to call it that) which has called to me on such a deep level.
We presented Winalee with a gift of Minnie Mouse who giggled and danced. Winalee added her reading glasses and the little dog loving Minnie is Dancer (named during class) who hung out on our magnetic white board all week and someone very cleverly added a "white belt" to his tail!
Joy joy and more joy is all I can say!!!!!
Meanwhile my Mom continues to make my gardens beautiful and spoil the dogs. She and Epic have quite the relationship going as she is the best ball thrower EVER in his eyes!
I for one am ready for crazy summer-ness to be done. I am looking forward to cooler weather and for some things in MY life to slow just a bit. There still is a list of things on my white board to be done but I am committed to making that happen one thing at a time - to completion. My white belt training has gotten me back in to a better zen of mind though and I'm going to spend some time reassessing how I move forward with my life. One of the terms we learned in training was Cosmic Salary. What are you doing to earn your Cosmic Salary?
I will say it is nice to be back to getting in to a routine though. We had a cold snap a week ago that was pretty amazing. Don't think we'll see many bugs now but I did see this out in my garden before it got cold. I've never seen a dragonfly up this close and it was really cool to watch.
