Fall on the Mighty Mo

September 30, 2014  •  5 Comments

I took a day off right before my Mom headed home and we packed up (without dogs) and drove up towards Great Falls.   We were supposed to have rainy cold weather over the weekend and were at that point having record high temps so I figured if we were going to see Fall colors that might be the only chance.  Unfortunately we didn't see many colors.  Don't think we will see much this year as the weather is so weird.   At least not around here.  We've had hot, cold, rain and wind so that even the willow along the banks have dropped leaves without color.   Regardless I wanted to show you a few scenes we found driving up the Recreation Road along the Missouri (yes one of my favorite drives).

Can you spot the pelicans?    You don't see any in this shot but there were more fishermen on the river than I think I've ever seen.

There were a number of spots where the brush had great colors and since the trees were not cooperating I decided to utilize that.   Pretty happy with the results.
