My amazing friend Lisa and I met through dogs - virtually. We connected via some of the dog yahoo groups gosh probably 7 or so years ago and have been friends ever since. She has done so many cool things in her life and I still to this day hope to spend some more quality time with her talking dogs and about the amazing things she has done. Her and her husband have a lovely home also out in the forest that both Lori and I were anxious to get to see in person. So the two of them conferred and agreed that we would come have lunch on Sunday! Yup more freaking AMAZING food. Lasagna that was frankly the best I've ever eaten and so much so we had to bring home desert - an amazing lemon cake she found at a local bakery (because she remembered I love lemon)!
We arrived and got a tour of her home filled with well, just amazing things. Then a lovely stroll through their acreage and some time on the patio just snapping pictures and chatting. Such a peaceful wonderful place to spend a Sunday afternoon with my Mom and good friends. So I want to share some of the photos (she's not even seen all of these) of our afternoon there!
This plant is a bat plant - see the little bat faces in the not so clear picture?
Lisa has a cool collection of carnivorous plants (2 years ago she and I went to Darlingtonia State Park out on the coast to see the plants there). Her pitcher plants are truly happy!
Lisa was telling us as we walked the property how they can see a different fungus/mushroom almost every time the come out and walk around. Aren't these white frilly things just lovely?
I was so taken by these lovely bottles. Not the best shot in the world but I just really loved them.
Yeah, guess which dogs were the ones that brought us together? :) This is Mousse giving Mom a grinnnnn....
A "not-a-pet" but Lisa has made this cool Lizard Palace out by their drive and front garden. This was the only one we saw and it was a teeny baby.
Gosh I just say again and again - I have the bestest and coolest friends around!
