February Out Like a Lion Marching In Like One Too

Yes the weather has turned cold and after almost a month not needing to fire up the wood stove we did again this week!   It is supposed to be cold and snowing and well just like winter this weekend.   I think I'll be finishing up the firewood pile in pretty short order which will be fine as I want to clean up the carport this spring and then will get a couple cords delivered to be ready for next winter.   The naked dogs are THRILLED!

I actually feel like I accomplished quite a few things this week.  Here are the new curtains in the trailer that I promised.  They turned out really nice and I'll finish putting up the command hooks for them once it warms up again (and it will)!

I am feeling like I need to work on some craft type things to help keep my hands out of the fridge so the other night I dug out my needle felting stuff and it was so relaxing.   This isn't all I did but it turned out so fun I wanted to share.   It makes me smile.  I also finished up a snowman ornament.

The bird feeders were busy especially in the mornings and this week I had crossbills return in addition to the chickadees, sparrows, finches, nuthatches and woodpeckers.  I saw this beauty today just hanging out alone so I quietly went out with the camera.   Not small enough to be a downy and not as large as an adult hairy I think it is a young hairy woodpecker.  Was thrilled to get so close and such detail.

Walking hasn't happened much since the weather turned so cold but I wanted to get the poodles out even though it was frigid.  So I took them and Teddy down to the campground by the river and it was COLD!   The walk was short but I did manage a few shots to share.

The sunshine was deceiving for sure the wind was bitter coming off the frozen river (which I haven't seen completely frozen over all winter).

Adele came over Friday afternoon for JSJ and massages all around and virtually every one of the dogs needed her help.  They were all but clamoring to get to her first!

Not to forget Epic did get to go swim on Tuesday.  Thank goodness since we've not been out walking.   I took Sterling along and he made us laugh doing all he could to stay as FAR away from the pool as possible.   Again, could I have two more different poodles?  Probably not.   This is Epic doing his "two-fer".

Sterling having NOTHING to do with Adele touching him.  He was sure she'd throw him in!

"Get me outta here!  Seriously!"

Magic has had a tough week.  Something totally freaked him out in his crate one night this week and I awoke to him crying and clawing to get out.  Let him sleep out in the house with Dot and Bandit for a few nights and he seems fine now.   His new favorite spot is sleeping up on the couch and I caught these of him the other night as the last rays of sun shined in the windows.

Am ready for the weekend and looking forward to not having a long list of things I HAVE to do although grooming some just bathed cresteds is definitely on the agenda!  :)

Hi There, Great photos from your area. Love seeing your furry babies... SO CUTE...

Think you have had a mild winter overall. At least, that is what I hear from other bloggers... WE had a mild one until our 5 storms hit us between 2/16-26..... We had a devastating ICE STORM which devastated our area... NOT FUN.

Hugs,
Betsy

I love Sterling's very clear body language by the pool! My second favorite picture is the sun lighting up sweet Magic's ear.
Thanks for showing us.
