But I know many of you are wondering where I've gone to! I did go actually, on a maiden voyage for the travel trailer. Last weekend a brave friend of mine (with a wonderful hubby that let her go along) and all the dogs loaded up in the truck, hitched up the trailer and headed NW to the Bitterroot Valley for a weekend of exploring the mountains and towns around that area. Somewhere neither of us had ever been. It was a great shake down trip and definitely great to have a very positive and easy going friend to help out with some of those little things that come up the first trip.
We were blessed with the opportunity to "driveway camp" at another friends place. Honestly the dogs and I probably could have just sat there and enjoyed the views, wildlife and relaxation the entire weekend. We definitely saw more wildlife right around that area that we did in all the traveling around the mountains we did in 2 days.
It was pretty "cozy" in the trailer with the pack of dogs and 2 humans but we did pretty darned well and are well on our way to getting the dogs in a "camping routine" which will make everything go smoother.
The poodles absolutely HATED having to stay there -- NOT! They ran and ran and ran while there and ran and ran some more while we were off exploring in the mountains for 2 days (about 4 miles of hiking day 1 and 8 miles on day 2).
I'll try to get some more posts ready to go and dole them out to you in the next days. Meanwhile - I'm going to take a nap before I feed the hounds!
