You know things have been busy when it took me until June to get the boat in the water!   I normally have my first float in March or April the latest but this year life and weather just didn't allow that so the Sunday after returning from Oregon I got the big boat down and Teddy and I went out.   It was heavenly!   The reservoir is still plumb full (we've had cool weather and rain so not as much irrigation going out of it) and cold and I think that and the weather has contributed to the lack of bird life out there.   Even the heron rookery is really empty which was very sad to me.   So I got shots of what birds I did get to see and have to say got probably one of my favorite grebe shots.   I've included a short 30 second video on the end where we stopped to just listen, turn your volume up and close your eyes and listen - try to ignore my occasional bumps on the mic.
