I really had hoped to find more wildlife on the coast than I did - or at least that I was able to photograph. Dark seas and dark skies don't lend themselves to photographing birds -- even if you do see them. LOL
So here are the shots of the eagles I saw the first walk on the beach at our campground. Of course I didn't have the long lens - who expects to see THAT?! So here is the youngster of the 3 that were there and I didn't get to get very close before it took off. Oh well. Still fun to watch.
I was driving around the day I did laundry taking the long way back to the campground an popped over to one of the islands. If the skeeters hadn't been so bad we'd have hiked to see what we could see but coming back across the channel I did see this great blue heron AND had my big camera in the truck. I stopped and started taking photos and was very pleased when he/she started hunting as honestly, the herons back home won't let you close enough to see that so you get the whole gray cast series here (hey it WAS gray there that day and raining as you can see).
Not the clearest of shots but s/he was finally successful!
