Walk About Downtown

September 02, 2015  •  6 Comments

When I got my new phone one of the things I hoped for was to be able to get some good photos from it.   Well they are "okay" but I guess my big dslr cameras have spoiled me!   Still it is nice to be able to take it along on m walks during my breaks when I'm at the office.  The other nice thing is I added a fitness app to track those walks so an "all in one" type deal.   Plus it gets me back to looking more closely at things around town.   So here are some shots from our afternoon walk before the cold weather sets in for the long weekend.   The leaves are already falling - some due to the season change and early I think because of the dry conditions.

This shot allowed me to do a bit of creative work....

And I had to take a photo of this original that was getting a last workout before the cold!   It was fun to see the couple driving it and listen to that unique engine sound that only older VWs make!

We have so much interesting architecture around town but I couldn't find any additional information on this structure that sits on the corner of 6th and Fuller.   Very unique but I most of all enjoyed seeing all of the local "fancy" bricks that were used in it.   Helena has a rich history of making bricks and there are still kilns around in the mountains.

Lastly it was so fun to walk past one of the doorways and see this......

Very nice! I actually use my iPhone camera quite a bit. With apps like Snapseed and Lightroom I can get some pretty good results. I still prefer my DSLR's, but smartphone cameras have gotten much better than they used to be.

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes, I was just in Helena in late June for my son's ordination, and loved the town. (You may have read the blog posts I did about my visit) I'll definitely be back next June and would love to connect. Thanks for commenting and following my blog! :)
