July 1? How can that be!

This week has flown by but I feel it has been pretty productive although I can't say that is more than a feeling as I look around to actually FIND something I accomplished.   Maybe it is just that tired feeling that is making me feel it has been productive - haha.

The dogs dilemas continue as we work to figure out what is making Magic throw up his cookies (or rather breakfast or dinner) about every other day.   We took him off the antibiotics we were hoping would finish clearing up the pneumonia and went to more frequent (as in 4 times a day) smaller meals of canned rather than kibble.   He will have a good day with no issues and the next it is back.   An ongoing thing but he is bright eyed and looks to be feeling good - at least when he isn't tossing his cookies.    Meanwhile Teddy went through a day of intestinal issues likely brought on by something gross he ate in the back yard.  It happens and he seems to be on the road to recovery.   Elliott still is struggling with a mild ear infection and Sterling with a more serious one that I think we will go to the vet to eradicate.   My week of washing it out and cleaning hasn't seemed to resolve it.   I'm pretty sure the vet is tired of seeing me!

I did however get my camera dusted off as we were enjoying some time in the pergola out back one evening (when it wasn't baking hot outside).  The dogs really love it when we go out there to relax and they love laying on the new bench back there.   I really enjoyed how these turned out.

Epic loves his pool even more and I have never had a dog that utilized the pool as much as he does.  He absolutely loves it but we do have to dump and refill often as he also loves rolling in the dirt then going in to cool off!  He is indeed a kick in the pants.

Mom and I saw our first hummingbird this week and since that sighting have seen 3 different ones at the feeders.  Later than normal but so fun to see them again!   The catmint seems to be a flower they like in the back and I know is a favorite of the bees.

The fushia plant that my Mom bought to try back in the pergola (complete shade) seems to be happy as it continues to bloom as well.   Right now though things in the gardens and pots are a full time job keeping them watered with the heat we are having.

I am happy to report though that it appears we will have a crop of raspberries this year.  Not sure how many but they are getting ripe as I write this.   The stand is getting REALLY old though so w are seeing less and less every year.  I'm not sure if I'll leave them for another year or suck it up this fall and pull them out and replace with flowers.

I promised some Dog Camp video a few posts back and finally got 2 uploaded to share with you.   I didn't do anything special to these so it is about as raw as it gets.

This first link is of Epic's adventure in lure coursing (yeah he loved it): EPIC LURE COURSING

This is a disc dog demo given by counselors Melissa and Paul (posted with their permission) and it is about 7 minutes long:  DISC DOGS  I had never actually seen a live demo like this and it was cool to see how many of the freestyle moves and tricks we teach work their way into this sport.   FUN!

Hope you all have a safe 4th of July and forego the personal fireworks in honor of your pets and those of your neighbors, not to mention the severe fire danger!   Go watch one of your locally sponsored show instead (and leave your pups at home).
