Can you believe that Monday is August 1st already? This summer is screaming by and I am in shock and awe really.
Wanted to pop in and share some of the goings on over the past few weeks (yes that last post was from 10 days ago). I actually have been out popping off a few photos but have yet to fire up the laptop and get them downloaded and processed. Due to the crazy busy stuff at work, the last thing I feel like doing in the evenings (even though it is hot and we are cooped up inside) is look at a computer monitor some MORE. So I am going to recycle some photos here for you just because I don't want a post of nothing but blabber!
I was thrilled to get out this past Sunday for a kayak paddle with two dear friends on the reservoir. I didn't take one camera with me except the phone and no shots from that. Decided I was going to enjoy the paddle and the company and I did. Louie and Teddy went along for the ride as well and we had a glorious morning of it....if not for the skeeters! Geez they were bad and even with spray and long pants and sleeves I still have bites on my neck, face and head. Hungry buggars!
I also got to get in a lovely long practice with the poodles with their cart this past weekend. Mom and I and the boys drove down to Bozeman and spent a lovely morning with my friend and draft dog mentor Christie. She has the ultimate location near her house to practice and we did. Both boys did well and we are working to get Sterling back up to full weight for freight haul. Epic hauled his full 20 pounds like a champ and Sterling had one minor freak out when we went through some water (that was "get your feet wet" deep nothing more) he didn't know was there. My prissy boy who we know does NOT like water!
Two weeks ago I started some remodeling work in the travel trailer. After a season and a half of using it I am finding that some things need to be tweeked. Because I have a deadline to finish it (before the next camping trip) I have been working hard to get that finished as well. I will share photos when I am done for those interested. This weekend I will be working on some re-upholstery work and getting the benches back into the trailer and the storage re-packed. All ahead of having to move the trailer off to the side so my brother can park in my spot for a while with his trailer.
The county fair is on this weekend although I don't know that we will be going. It is just too freaking hot and supposed to be pushing 100 by Saturday. I think we will stick to a run to Farmer's Market early Saturday morning then head home to work on the trailer and hibernate with the a/c! My hope is to mayyybe get a drive in on Sunday in the mountains but we will see what the weather and the weekend brings.
