Holiday Therapy Sunday

December 09, 2019  •  2 Comments

Well I did NOT manage to get poodles bathed and groomed as planned - darned donuts didn't kick that in, rather made me take a nap!  haha

I did get Sterling cleaned up though and even though the snow started rolling in Sunday morning, we did get to town in the little car even though it was dicey on the slick roads.

I will say - in therapy dog land, sometimes our visits are super short either that everyone is napping after lunch or ya know, just not in the petting mood.  Today most everyone was upbeat and happy and chatty.  Even one of our favorite ladies who was hurt and in rehab for a while was back which was a thrill!   It is always great to see upbeat energy in all these folks during the holidays which can be difficult for some.

Sterling was also in great form, really sucking into the petting and lovin today.  While others don't really notice I do know that there are visits when he is present but also more disconnected.   We all have those days.

Sorry for all the poodle and hands photos but that is for privacy sake you know.

The other thing he and I always do is go get fries at McDs after we are done.  Not only does he like it, I like it and it  helps me explain to the ladies why he doesn't get to have cookies (from them) while there.

Yup, we finished the box by the time we got home!

The snow is still rolling through and then not.  It almost looks like it wants to clear off now that late afternoon has arrived which means it is probably going to get even colder tonight (the wind has been howling from the north all day).  I did bring in wood and started a fire this morning so the old naked dogs are parked in front of the stove awaiting their dinner.    Now to just chill (no pun intended) for the evening.  Maybe I'll get busy and practice my dulcimer or get really energetic and do dishes - haha.

I'll leave you with this really fun decoration they had at the assisted care that just made me happy.   I loved the simplicity and the colors really made me happy.   Plus it doesn't take up any space!

LOVE sweet Sterling's face in these shots. What a doll boy.
I agree with you, that simple holiday decoration is lovely. I wonder where they got such a tall glass tube though!

Sterling is just the kind of dog to make people smile! I bet he loves those fries!
