Super Saturday

But first we had maybe one sunny day this week and I couldn't pass this up.

Saturday of course dawned cloudy and windy and with temps all over the map all over the valley.  I tell you there was 20 degrees variation from home to town to the reservoir.   Not unusual and as I write this I see a snow squal coming across Scratchgravel Hills.

I got up and enjoyed my cupa coffee before heading to town.  I had a mission for some travel trailer projects.   I am really going to try to get it a little more "together" inside.   It will involve some sewing, some cutting and I still have an art project to either buy or make - just couldn't settle on what for that yet.  So loaded up 3 dogs as we would go for a walk after errands and off to Hobby Lobby I went.   I wandered around in there for a very long time let me tell you.  It was so quiet when I got there at 9:30 but I think I wandered around like 90 minutes and boy it was busy when I left (It is only 10 days till Christmas remember).  Good news is I not only settled on some fabric but I got to see an old dog show friend I've not seen in a while.  She is working there now and it was a joy to see her.

So the print is the pillow sham for the quilt I have in the trailer.  I knew I wanted to do some recovering of my cushions to match something in it and landed on the fabric below it.  Upholstery fabric that was on clearance and was cheaper even than cotton!  YAY!   Then I wanted a color to make some flounces for the benches to cover my drawers under them.  That took me freaking forever but landed on the burgendy (didn't want a green as my window covers are green).   I won't be sewing official covers but will rather cut them so I can wrap (like a package) give the sides a little extra and will fuse hems on all 4 sides for each.   I  have a new back wall cover coming that I will be attaching tight with velcro to the inside of the door and then making 3 pieces, so I can roll up the middle one to walk  between the benches.   It  will also provide insulation.  I'm praying that what I ordered will also match the colors in the pillow sham above.

Off to the reservoir for a walk  although MY BAD because we were late enough I had to make a couple spot checks before finding a place we could walk alone.   Today was both poodles and Oliver's turn.  Sterling doesn't normally go because he just isn't that "in to it" but I wanted him to get to have some fun too.   Besides it was icy so I wasn't walking fast (and I'm in horrid shape so I'm not walking fast).

I don't think I ever remember seeing ice skaters out there.  It made my heart happy to see and there was a pretty large group of them!   There were ice fishermen as well.

We made a quick detour down to the shore first for a photo shoot that well was meh....by that time Epic had already spotted the geese out on the ice and Sterling, at almost 10 years old, is really over the whole photo stays thing.

Onward we went and Oliver was being really brave out front for a while!

Oliver had his bells on but when we saw this he had to go on leash for a while!

Tested the full zoom out to get that so sorry if it is a bit grainy.   Yup, still lots of brown!

You know though, so many interesting textures that you wouldn't notice otherwise I think.  We stopped as the sun came out and tried for some more shots of dogs.   Little better me thinks.

Let's just call it what it is - practicing stays!  Yes there were cookie rewards all around.

He thinks I forgot his - or that cuteness gets more.  It didn't!    Off to more exploring, macros and scenery.

We left just as another person/dog headed out so perfect timing.  I was also getting windy and cold and Oliver definitely was looking at me like he was done.  Home we came, started a fire and just hung out.   It has been just chaotic and dramatic at work this past few weeks.  I'm blaming the full moon but know better.  Dogs have all been out of sorts with the moon and not enough outside time.   This walk was heavenly!

Lovely brown toned photos. The dogs are cute. Brave of you to walk in the cold. We are having a heatwave,
