The Deep Freeze that Wasn't

But I am NOT complaining!   It missed us by about 50 miles and while we did have below 0 temps it wasn't horrible and didn't last.  We hunkered in and the daily chore was  getting in wood.   Not much was moving outside.  I do have a bunny that is leaving some tracks on the back sidewalks and of course some other rodent I can't identify the tracks for.

The work week flew by which was fine.  Not without drama but oh well - apparently that is just the way things are going to go.

I was able to get out for dinner with a very good friend that I've not seen in a couple months.  We talked dogs for 2 hours which was lovely.   She is very common sense and helped me through some decisions about competing  this year as well.   Epic and I are still struggling with CDX work in obedience and I know that distractions are horrid for him so I think I'm going to go back and do some more Rally with him and see how it goes.  Also have plans to do some agility (we've not done that now for oh 3 years) and at least try to get that last Q in Novice.   I reall ythink that Oliver's game will be agility so it will be good to try some stuff with him as well.  Friend also has some ins with practices here in town that I'm going to tag along to at some point as well.     We will see and wish us luck.

Meanwhile to keep up our  interest  I got to watch a live stream of the Rose City Classic on Friday night which was fun.   I had a number of friends showing in the  groups so I was virtually cheering them on.

Yup that is how we role!    I was so happy to also see a few days with sunshine - not all day but it does make it feel warmer.  The dogs were pleased as well.

I  am taking an extended weekend so I don't lose my time off at work and adding on to the holiday on Monday.   Sure made it nice to sign off work Friday knowing I didn't have to fire it back up till Thursday!  LOL   Not  that I don't have a very long to-do list not the least of which is cage cleaning for Iago, getting tax stuff lined up, errands in town to support the latter and a pickup of dog food.   I also got a burr in my bonnet and bought a mix for hot  buttered rum a few weeks back so I needed to go get rum.  You can count on like 2 fingers how many times I go into a liquor store in a year (yeah big drinker I am not) so am writing this while I am sampling it.  Not bad but I think I need more spices even with the spiced rum.  May try to make my own batter at some point instead.

My tax stuff is  as ready as it can be now till I get "stuff" from a number of companies including the one I work for.  Check!

Am  going to start a knitting project (yeah we'll see how that goes) so those supplies are in the house as well.  Monday I have a friend coming over for movie night so I think I'm going to kick my butt in gear tomorrow and try a new pie recipe.

There  ya go, not all that exciting but geez time is flying by it seems.  Still going with SLOW DOWN in my new 2020 year!

Love the dogs soaking up sun and watching the dog show! They always know the best places to be.
